About the new version of Tonzr...

You've probably already noticed, but I'm proud to announce that we're slowly phasing the MMS feature back into Tonzr. We have worked a deal with a quality service provider that will allow us to have reliable SMS and MMS delivery (yes, even with Verizon) at low enough costs to keep the site free for everyone. It is going to take a week or so to get everything moved over to using the new service, so until then, the MMS feature may be "hit and miss". We'd like to say thank you very much to everyone for being so patient while we worked out all of the kinks, and especially to those of you who wrote kind, encouraging emails. Within the next two weeks, we will be publicly announcing the name of the company who is helping us so that you may all thank them and maybe even send some business their way as appreciation.

You may have noticed that Tonzr has changed a bit recently. This page is just to help answer a lot of repeat questions we've been getting. Also, please do not send us an email asking when the site will be back up, or when a certain feature will be working again. If we had any solid timeframes, we'd post them on the site. No need to email us about it. Also, please don't email us just to tell us how upset you are that our free service isn't working. Stuff like that is not going to motivate us to get it running any quickier. Maybe if you sent us some nice emails, telling us how much you enjoy and appreciate Tonzr, and that you can't wait for it to be back up...... Anyways, here's some of the questions we've been getting:

Why did Tonzr switch to this new version? Wasn't it fine the way it was?
Unfortunately, our licensing agreement with our previous content provider didn't work out, so we've had to locate new content sources for our site. Hopefully our new system will still satisfy everyone, and hopefully you'll even find it a little easier to use.
Why has it taken so long to get Tonzr back up?
The task we were presented with, to find a new content source, was pretty tough. It took us time to be able to match the quality Tonzr users have come to expect from us. In addition to that, when we finally were ready to launch, we were greeted with such a huge flood of users that it crashed our servers.
When will the MMS option be available?
We have worked out a deal with a great SMS and MMS service provider that will allow us to have full SMS/MMS capabilities to all major carriers once again. We'll be moving everything over to the new system over the next week or two, but in the meantime, you may still have some issues with MMS from time to time; especially with Verizon.
I'm a U.S Military member and requested a speed pass. What happened with that?
We're really sorry we've been so backed up with the speed pass requests.

Update: We're being told by our new MMS service provider that there will most likely not even be a wait time for Verizon any more, which would negate the entire need for a speed pass. If this is the case, we will work on coming up with some other type of "premium" service that we can offer exclusively to our valued service men and women to show our appreciation.
